I read this recently and thought WOW! I want to be like that! To give every opportunity my all, to go above and beyond, to live life to the fullest for my Savior(Col. 3:23)! To be a person who perseveres even when it seems hardest. It is truly people like this that change the world and leave a legacy. The following was a great challenge and encouragement to me. This tidbit is from "212 The Extra Degree" by Parker & Anderson.

AT 211 DEGREES, WATER IS HOT.
AT 212 DEGREES, IT BOILS.
AND WITH BOILING WATER, COMES STEAM.
AND STEAM CAN POWER A LOCOMOTIVE.
The secret to anyone's success is what I call "And-then-some-syndrome." The power of these words is captured in a short essay written by Carl Holmes:
And then some...these three little words are the secret to success. They are the difference between average people and top people in most companies. The top people always do what is expected...and then some. They are thoughtful of others; they are considerate and kind...and then some. They are good friends and helpful neighbors...and then some. They can be counted on in an emergency...and then some. I am thankful for people like this, for they make the world a better place. Their spirit of service is summed up in these three little words...and then some.

A quote I love that goes along with this beautifully...
"I believe there is a price tag on everything worthwhile, but it is seldom a monetary one. The price is often one of dedication, deprivation, extra effort, loneliness. Each person decides whether he or she wants to pay the price. Those who do, achieve beyond other people."
~Jim McKay
God witheld nothing, but gave us everything...and then some. Lord Jesus, please help my life to mirror that, so that others may see Your boundless love through me. Amen.
