"Life is not about the big catch, it's about how you live the moments in between."
Haven't we heard this said so many times? And yet, if I really stop to think about it, I can learn a great deal from it still.
So often, I am so fixated on the "someday" mentality, the big catch...SOMEDAY I'll be in ministry or have that job elsewhere and things will be so different, SOMEDAY I will live somewhere else and it will be so much better there, SOMEDAY everything will come together for me and all my dreams will come to fruition, SOMEDAY... you fill in the blank. And I think at times, it is so easy to become so stuck on the future, that we miss out on what God is doing and WANTING to do IN and THRU us RIGHT NOW. And we miss so much of what He is doing right this very moment, in the repititious, same-o, same-o up and downs of every day life preparing for that future. I think the majority of our lives is the "in between time", the growing, the molding of character, the increasing of our faith, etc. The moment we "arrive" is not necessarily the main delight of the Lord, but merely the time spent in between all of that, growing and walking with Him each day and learning to trust His guiding hand at work in our lives. Ultimately I believe each one of us has a divine purpose for being created, and we all have that "big moment" where God intends to pour thru us like never before...but I also know, we were created with the divine purpose of fellowship with Him on a daily basis, and that is something you learn in the meantime.
